The people behind the mission
Zero AMR Initiative is built by people who believe that preventing antimicrobial resistance requires more than awareness. It requires knowledge, community participation, responsible leadership, evidence, collaboration and action.
Our team brings together young leaders, pharmacy and health professionals, researchers, community representatives, communicators, advocates and partners working across different areas of antimicrobial resistance.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where different experiences, disciplines and perspectives contribute to better solutions.
Operations Team
The Operations Team coordinates the day to day implementation of programmes, campaigns, partnerships, communications and community activities.
Samuel Oliaha Peter
Founder and Team Lead
Samuel Oliaha Peter is a pharmacy student and public health advocate working on antimicrobial resistance, medication literacy, community health, youth leadership and health equity. He founded Zero AMR Initiative to build a community centred response to AMR that connects education, prevention, responsible antimicrobial use, youth participation, evidence and advocacy. As Team Lead, Samuel provides strategic direction, coordinates the initiative’s work and supports the partnerships that advance its mission across Rwanda, South Sudan and beyond.

Young people should not only receive health information. They should have meaningful opportunities to shape conversations, generate ideas, participate in evidence building and lead solutions within their communities.
