Our actions
From awareness to action
AMR cannot be solved by speaking at communities. It requires listening to them. Our Community Circles are participatory spaces where young people and community members discuss antimicrobial resistance, infection prevention, medicine use, WASH, environmental health and the realities that shape health decisions.
Listen. Learn. Discuss. Co-create. Act.
- 01
Listen
To community experiences, questions, beliefs and challenges around medicines, infections and healthcare.
- 02
Learn
Clear, evidence informed information about AMR, antimicrobial use and infection prevention.
- 03
Discuss
The behaviours and systems that contribute to AMR.
- 04
Co-create
Practical solutions that fit community realities.
- 05
Act
Turn ideas into community action, education, advocacy and follow up.
Questions we explore
- Why do people self medicate?
- Why are antibiotics shared within families?
- What prevents people from seeking professional care?
- What misconceptions exist about antibiotics?
- How do medicine access and cost shape decisions?
- How do WASH conditions affect infection prevention?
- What solutions do communities believe could work?
Action in practice
Community education
AMR education sessions, school outreach, university engagement, community dialogues, health education, digital campaigns and practical prevention activities.
Infection prevention action
Hand hygiene, WASH, environmental cleanliness, IPC education, community awareness and safer health practices.
Youth action
Young people are engaged as community educators, advocates, peer leaders, storytellers, campaign volunteers, evidence contributors and AMR champions.
Evidence to action
We document what communities experience, learn from interventions, and use evidence to improve future action.
Awareness matters. Action creates change. Evidence helps sustain it.
Host a Community Circle
Schools, universities, community organisations, health institutions and partners can work with Zero AMR Initiative to organise meaningful AMR activities.
